Filter protects pneumatic devices from particulate damage
Porvair Filtration Groups range of Vyon sintered porous plastic filter elements provide particulate protection and sound attenuation for pneumatic equipment.
Combining mechanical strength and proven long-term durability makes Vyon a cost effective alternative with comparable performance to the traditional sintered metal filters traditionally used by pneumatic component manufacturers.
Vyon filters typically remove particles down to microns in size protecting pneumatic devices from damage caused by these contaminants including lubricant particles ejected by the compressor dirt particles small water droplets or aerosols and even oil vapor and dust particles.
On pneumatic exhaust ports – Vyon materials can be used to attenuate sound to safe levels whilst exhausting gases safely to the atmosphere. These silencers are easily installed by screwing directly into the exhaust port of the control valve and because they are unaffected by water and oil they require no maintenance. Im just not sure they are worth the added cost over regular filters and of course if you neglect your Jeep they would likely do more harm than good. Then again if you are like a magazine guy and either dont put mileage on the Jeep or sell it before the next oil change whats the point.
Then what about the O-rings Are parts available etc etc etc.I saw this one at the Bantam show a few weeks ago but there were two threads available They were on deep deep discounted prices thanks to it being the last day of the show The price was low enough for even a cheapskate like me to be tempted.but since I wasnt sure what the thread diameter and pitch was off the top of my head I didnt get one. Last thing I wanted was an unusable but more expensive than normal filter.Any of you ever used or are currently using one of these Not only this particular brand but any of this type of oil filter.
